Whilst raw dog food is important, you should also consider the best protein to use for dog treats. Meats such as beef are slightly higher in fat, making them less ideal for dogs with digestive issues. We also have our chicken-free range to satisfy any dogs with allergies to chicken.
Despite this, each protein has its own benefits:
Chicken contains lean protein, supporting muscle development and maintenance, whilst rich in amino acids that are crucial for tissue repair and growth. Turkey is a suitable alternative for dogs with chicken allergies, also containing less fat.
Lamb and beef are high in protein and have rich flavour. As a source of iron, beef supports red blood cell production, oxygen transport and boosts the immune system. Lamb also contains healthy fats to keep your dog active, whilst being suitable for sensitive stomachs.
Venison is a lean protein that is again easily digestible. It supports the immune system and energy levels, whilst being unlikely to cause allergic reactions. Although slightly more expensive, it’s a high quality source of protein.
